Personal Challenge Week June 2008
"We have Staff and Students all over the British Isles during this Personal Challenge Week" (D.Wise, 24.06.08)

School Web
The Sea to Sea Cycle Route is the flagship of long distance routes, having won a global award in 1996. It is a wonderful route through the Northern Lake District and over the Pennines, beginning on the Cumbria coast at Whitehaven or Workington on the Irish Sea, and finishing in Sunderland or Tynemouth on the North Sea.
Sea to Sea , C2C , Coast to Coast . Call it what you want..... The Challenge is still the same !

Setting off on our 140 mile journey. Touching the wheels in the Irish Sea.

This was the start of our challenge to move ourselves and our bikes, from the Irish Sea back to the North Sea.

Comments of the children, entered onto the web site by themselves on the last night with only the last run home to complete.....
My Opinion of the coast to coast was amazing, funny and spectular. Because the views we saw and the fun we had was brilliant........Dean Cavaliero
Personally I have thoroughly enjoyed the coast 2 coast bike ride because it has been challenging but enjoyable. It will be a good achievement to complete.......Alex Loughran
I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges that we have had to try and complete throughout the week, as it has not only been challenging but fun having a good laugh all week especially the legend that is Dean Cavaliero.....Alex Nicholson.
I have really enjoyed coast 2 coast it has been class! We have had a proper laugh especially when me and Alex N stretched Gadza and he was nearly wetting himself with laughter as we were tickling him as well....... Sean Kelly
My opinion of coast to coast is that it has been a great experience and a true challenge as we cycled up a 1903ft hill. It has also been a laugh as well as Dean C has been an absolute clown all week........ Shaun Gadsby
This week has been amazing. We've all become closer as mates which has been essential considering how difficult the task is. I know that i will never forget this experience and there has been laugh after laugh! ... Sean Barlow
The coast to coast challenge has been a very hard week for me but it has been great fun. The highlight of the week for me was when I gave callum the shock of his life when I took a picture off him when he was asleep. The flash woke everyone up but callum nearly leaped out of his bed...... James Pooley
The coast to coast challenge has been a challenge, although i enjoyed every single last bit. the most enjoyable is/was the off road downhill's. i will never forget this week and wish to complete this challenge again in future years...... craig donnelly
This week has been absolutely fantastic. Although it has been very hard work i have really enjoyed this challenge, but the thing that stands out for me the most is the laughs we have had and i know i will remember this experience for the rest of my life..... Jake Turnbull
What a week! This has been an incredible experience in every way and I have surprised myself with both my physical and mental strength. The best part of my week was turning the corner at the top of Hartside to see the cafe there. We have all got on extremely well and had a mint laugh....Callum Harvey

It was not all about riding a bike......
P.S. The accommodation at Consett was fantastic... take a peek
